Adapted from my original design for the Japanese Cherry Blossom Tree, this design focuses on the same stitch elements but celebrates Japan at another beautiful time of the year, Autumn. I’m yet to see Japan during Cherry Blossom season, but I visited Japan in late October just as the leaves were turning, displaying leaves in green, deep orange, gold and red, it was truly magical. The aim of class is to concentrate on creativity and stitch accuracy. The course focuses on 4 basic stitches, the aim being that through repetition and practice you gain accuracy and consistency when stitching, whilst being creative and making this design truly your own. We’ll be getting to grips with French knots, Japanese Knots and creative Goldwork couching, also known as Italian couching, as well as the straight seeding like stitches that create the leaves. When finished, a 6" hoop is included in your kit so you can learn how to mount your beautifully finished Japanese Autumn Leaves embroidery.
