This design will introduce you to many of the stitches and techniques which are essential in the art of Crewel Work embroidery including: split stitch, seeding stitch, trellis stitch, fly stitch, stem stitch, chain stitch, detached chain stitch, satin stitch, long and short stitch, whipped wheels, laidwork, block shading and french knots.
This kit includes all of the threads, fabrics and needles required to complete this charming hand embroidery design and the clear instruction booklet with step by step photographs will guide you easily through your project. The traditional linen twill background fabric is provided with the design already transferred on for you.
Materials included in the kit: linen twill fabric, Appletons crewel wool and size 22 chenille needles.
Difficulty level: Intermediate – This kit is suitable for all skill levels although a little experience with the stitches included in this design would be useful.
