This is the second design inspired by Hampton Court Palace. By stitching the beautiful Golden Pear Gate by the main entrance, you'll master a variety of fundamental Goldwork techniques essential to the craft. Transforming intricate metalwork into delicate embroidery, you'll create voluminous pears and leaves on high-quality linen, capturing the essence of the Hampton Court experience.
To create this design, you will learn how to apply felt padding for Goldwork, apply kid leather, and master techniques such as pearl purl, chipping, couching, and s-ing. You'll also discover the fundamental and beautiful stitches of Goldwork, enjoying a variety of filling methods using different techniques.
We will also make time to take you to view the beautiful gate in person.
The class kit will include everything you require to complete the project. You may like to bring your own embroidery scissors and you will be able to borrow ring frames, magnifiers and lights (if needed) on the day.
