This small flower design introduces you to a combination of blackwork, goldwork, and Elizabethan twist techniques. You’ll stitch a delicate flower on deep navy linen using a variety of gold-coloured threads.
The flower is subtly shaded to add depth to the simple design, while the two leaves are worked in blackwork on one side only. The stem features an Elizabethan twist, with gold couching and beading on the stamens to create dimension.
In this class, students will learn two blackwork patterns, how to apply a golden twist, and the basics of the Elizabethan twist technique.
