During this one day class the students will learn a number of metal thread embroidery techniques and will combine them with decorative surface stitches to create this striking Rainbow Lorikeet feather design.
You will learn how to cut, handle and stitch a variety of metal threads such as gilt and copper pearl purl, gilt Japanese thread and coloured metallic purls to create techniques such as couching, long and short cutwork, chipping and decorative couching. You will also learn how to create long and short embroidery using DMC stranded cotton threads.
This class is suitable for both beginners and for more advanced embroiderers who wish to practice their skills.
