ONL25249 Introduction to Canvaswork: ‘Mondrian Inspired Sampler’
£165.00
Piet Mondrian is best known for his instantly recognisable abstract paintings made from squares and rectangles. He was initially inspired by Cubism and through experimentation he began to produce these iconic grids which lend themselves perfectly to Canvaswork.
Using a twist on the classic Mondrian square designs, we will explore some different Canvas Stitches to create texture within the shapes. Stitches will include Tent, Byzantine, Chequer, Cushion, Fern, Parisian, Scotch and Fan
The kit includes everything you need to complete the project as well as full step-by-step instructions which will enable you to complete the project in your own time.
Suitable for complete beginners to embroidery or beginners to the technique as the tuition will take you through each step clearly. There will be plenty of opportunity during the class to ask the Tutor questions and in advance of the class all preparation information will be emailed to you along with an invitation to join the class on the day.
All the stitches covered in this class and more can be found on the RSN Stitchbank.
The class kit will be posted out to you. Your kit includes all the materials you need. The only additional items you’ll need are an 8" hoop and a pair embroidery scissors. It would be useful to have a pencil and paper in case you wish to take extra notes.
You can explore many more stitches on the RSN Stitch Bank.
