ONL25281 Experimental Fabric Collage: ‘Landscape or Ocean Scene’ NEW
£116.00
In this class, you will create a captivating landscape or seascape fabric collage using your own selection of plain and patterned fabrics. Inspired by the work of Hannah Austin. This class is designed to be a fun way to experiment with stitching and bring out your inner artist.
Suitable for beginners (no experience necessary) and more experienced stitchers alike, and is a perfect opportunity to experiment and breathe new life into your existing fabric, thread, and bead collection.
You will:
· Explore fabric selection, learning how to choose, cut, and position materials to create your desired scene.
· Master a variety of stitches as the tutor demonstrates techniques to appliqué your fabric pieces, add sun rays, and embellish with beads, crystals, and other details based on your chosen fabrics.
· Experiment with different thread types, discovering how to create texture and detail in your final piece.
This class offers a wonderful chance to work on an experimental piece and utilize even small scraps of material. Under the tutor's guidance, you'll bring your scene to life, learning a wide range of stitches and techniques to enhance your creation. You will be provided with a stitch glossary of suggested stitches as this will be a student lead class and a 5” ring frame to mount your finished design in for display at home. You will need to bring a selection of fabrics, matching and contrasting threads and other materials (i.e. beads, sequins, crystals) based on your chosen theme (land or sea) to work with on the day. Ideally you should bring a selection of 5-9 fabrics (can be small off cuts left over from other projects) so we have a selection to play with as odd numbers of fabrics work best.
You can explore many more stitches on the RSN Stitch Bank.
