"In Flanders fields the poppies blow..."

Join us this November for a silk shading class inspired by the enduring symbol of remembrance. Using a striking poppy design, you will learn how to create depth, shape and detail through the careful use of colour and stitch.

Throughout the class, you will explore a range of silk shading techniques including long and short stitch, split stitch, stem stitch, holding stitches and French knots. With guidance from your tutor, you will learn how to blend threads and control stitch direction to bring the petals and foliage to life.

Once completed, the finished piece will measure approximately 12cm x 20cm.

All materials required to complete the design will be provided. Please bring a notebook and pen if you would like to make notes throughout the class.
