RSN A Year in Flowers: January – Snowdrop Embroidery Kit

£38.50

Pre Order Due in 15th April 2025

This series of embroidery kits for all levels, charts a year in flowers. Although each kit depicts a flower that is associated with a particular month, the numerous symbolic meanings extend far beyond the month with which it is connected.

Within numerous cultures, flowers hold symbolic meanings, featuring in folk tales and as decorations for celebrations and festivities. In addition, certain flowers often hold personal significance, capturing a memory of a person or a place.

The snowdrop is the flower of January. Emerging at the beginning of the year, in the cold depths of winter, it is the first sign of the coming spring. Therefore, the snowdrop is a symbol of rebirth, new beginnings and hope.

This embroidery kit provides an introduction to a variety of surface stitches. You will learn split stitch, long and short, satin stitch and couching. The design is worked using a selection of vibrant stranded cottons on a natural-coloured linen.

  • The kit includes:
  • Instruction booklet
  • Linen with printed design
  • Calico backing fabric
  • 3 × stranded cotton threads
  • 5”/13 cm hoop
  • 2 × chenille 24 needle
