Description
Spring Wreath
This beautiful Spring Wreath kit designed by RSN Tutor Sarah Smith will introduce you to a range of embroidery stitches including the much admired technique of silk shading or ‘painting with a needle’. It is worked in pure silk Soie d’Alger from Au Ver A Soie and a variegated silk thread from Stef Francis on the highest quality light grey Belgian linen.
It is aimed at people who have some experience of embroidery stitches, but a detailed 12 page instruction booklet takes you through each stitch in easy steps with full colour photographs to guide you. The stitches covered are: Starting and Finishing your thread; Split Stitch; French Knots; Silk Shading; Stem Stitch; Detached Chain Stitch and Closed Fly Stitch. There is also a clearly annotated Stitch Plan and a corresponding Colour Plan to work from.
It is worked in a vibrant palette of Spring colours and would work well framed as a picture, or stitched upon table linen, perhaps for an Easter table. It all comes beautifully packaged in a traditional, high quality, gusseted ‘string and washer’ envelope in which you can safely keep all of your bits and pieces whilst you complete your project
Each kit contains: Detailed 12 page, full-colour instruction leaflet; a ‘Thread Palette’ of all the threads required to complete the project, clearly separated, labelled and cut into prepared lengths; 36 cm x 36 cm high quality Belgian linen with the design printed on; John James needles (x2 size 12 Embroidery, x1 size 10 Embroidery and x1 size 7 Embroidery).
Finished size of the embroidery is approximately 15 cm in diameter.
You will also need embroidery scissors and an 8” ring frame to complete the project.
