£530.00
This class is part of the RSN International Summer School 2025
Raised work embroidery (three dimensional work) became very popular in mid 17th century England. Preserved examples are characterised by a sense of fun and creativity; many different materials were employed, and many different techniques were combined.
In this series of classes we will explore a selection of raised work materials and techniques as used in C17th work. In the spirit of those times we will also have time to think about and sample contemporary applications.
Materials charge to cover fabric, threads, needles, wires, purls, parchment and other items. The exact content will vary according to the day.
At the end of each day participants will have a series of samples for future reference.
