RSN trained, Senior Studio Embroiderer and RSN Fellow Marg Dier’s one off, beautiful hand embroidered jewellery pieces are inspired by nature. Delicately hand stitched, she uses silk ribbons, Swarovski crystals and fine embroidery threads in her exquisite work.
These bespoke hollyhock brooches have been embroidered in fine Japanese silk ribbons.
Ribbon embroidery is a frustrating but rewarding embroidery technique. Due to the delicate nature of the ribbons the stitches cannot be easily unpicked so you cannot make mistakes. It has to be perfect first time.
The centres of the flowers have been embellished with fine glass beads or hand painted french knots. The backings are all silk fabrics chosen to complement the flowers with a contemporary white metal frame.
