On this one day course you will be introduced to a selection of ribbonwork and stumpwork techniques along with both raised embroidery stitches and decorative surface stitches.

The techniques taught in the class will include: creating 3D embroidered wired shapes with couched and buttonhole stitched edges, 3D silk shaded petals, various silk ribbon stitches such as loop stitch, ribbon stitch and French knots and decorative surface stitches including fly stitch, stem stitch and more.

The kit provided in the class contains all of the materials needed to create this beautiful design and the fabric is  provided with the design already transferred on for you.

This embroidery is one of ten designs which are featured in the book Stumpwork Embroidery: Techniques And Projects, written by Helen Richman.

This class is suitable for mixed abilities.

You can explore many more stitches on the RSN Stitch Bank.

The class kit will include everything you require to complete the project. You may like to bring your own embroidery scissors and you will be able to borrow ring frames, magnifiers and lights (if needed) on the day.
