This design depicts the striking elderberry, famous for its delicate clouds of white blossom, which turn to vivid bright pink stems and luscious dark berries in autumn.
This project involves a variety of surface stitches, providing plenty of opportunities to practise and perfect your technique. These stitches include Woven Wheels, Split Stitch, Heavy Chain, Cretan Stitch, Knotted Pearl Stitch, Fly Stitch and Stem Stitch. The woven and knotted stitches create fun raised elements and texture that will bring your elderberry branch to life!
Stitched on complementary pale-peach Essex linen, this design uses cotton and silk threads.
This class is suitable for beginners, but embroiderers of all levels are welcome.
The class kit will include everything you require to complete the project. You may like to bring your own embroidery scissors and you will be able to borrow ring frames, magnifiers and lights (if needed) on the day.
Please note this is an onsite class which will run from 10am-4pm at Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey KT8 9AU.
