Learn the delicate art of Silk Shading to create this beautiful and colourful design Rainbow Bee Eaters In The Mulla Mulla.
Based on the original watercolour painting by Perth artist Tom Montgomery, the stitching is used to build up the texture and shading of these characterful birds.
This one day class will introduce you to split stitch, satin stitch and long and short stitch, as well as providing guidance and instruction on stitch direction, density and angle, order of working and colour placement and blending, all of which are essential when building up shading and texture in a piece of Silk Shading.
This class is suitable for mixed abilities.
You can explore many more stitches on the RSN Stitch Bank.
The class kit will include everything you require to complete the project. You may like to bring your own embroidery scissors and you will be able to borrow ring frames, magnifiers and lights (if needed) on the day.
Please note this is an onsite class which will run from 10am-4pm at Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey KT8 9AU.
