Over this two day whitework and goldwork course the students will learn how to combine these two beautiful embroidery techniques using a variety of stitches.
Goldwork techniques will include: couching gilt Japanese thread and twist thread, applying pearl purl metal thread, applying purl loops, applying spangles, using gold kid leather, applying felt padding and creating chipping.
Whitework techniques will include: trailing, stem stitch, padded satin stitch, long and short stitch, detached chain stitch and creating eyelets.
These techniques are then combined with beadwork and embellishment to create a small contemporary floral design.
The class kit will include all of the fabrics, threads, needles and other materials needed to complete the project.
This class is suitable for all ability levels and to those who are new to these techniques.

The class kit will include everything you require to complete the project. You may like to bring your own embroidery scissors and you will be able to borrow ring frames, magnifiers and lights (if needed) on the day.
Please note this is an onsite class which will run from 10am-4pm at Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey KT8 9AU.
