HCP25254 Carnation: A Reticello Design EXCLUSIVE
View map
£261.00
Reticello is an Italian style of needlelace which dates from the 15th century. It involves the removal of threads from an evenweave fabric to form a grid into which the design is stitched. Some of stitches used will be Punto Festone (Buttonhole stitch), Punto Cordoncino (Whip stitch), Pippiolino (Picot) and Punto Chiaro (Open stitch).
Although Reticello is traditionally stitched with white threads on a white linen fabric, a modern twist will be added to this design by using coloured threads. The students will be able to choose the colour of their flower from a selection of colours which will be available during the class.
This is an intermediate level class which is aimed at students who have some previous experience of working a counted thread technique which involves the removal of threads from the fabric.
If you have enjoyed this class you may wish to consider one of the other Whitework classes being taught by Nicola.
You can explore many more stitches on the RSN Stitch Bank.
Please note this is an onsite class which will run from 10am-4pm at Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey KT8 9AU.
