Develop your thread painting skills with our Clematis Folk Art design. This class is ideal for anyone looking to explore silk shading and learn how colour and stitch can be used to create shape and form.
Throughout the class, you will learn a range of filling techniques including French knots, long and short stitch, split stitch, stem stitch and holding stitches. You will explore how stitch direction and thread blending can be used to capture the petals and leaves of the clematis while building confidence in thread painting techniques.
The class will take place at Hampton Court Palace.
All materials required to complete the design will be provided. Please bring a notebook and pen if you would like to make notes throughout the class. You are also welcome to film demonstrations for your own personal reference and practice after the workshop.
