Designed by embroidery artist Emily Mason, this Orchid Brooch course is inspired by the beauty of orchids and their long association with fashion, jewellery and embellishment. Using a combination of embroidery and construction techniques, you will create a wearable embroidered brooch that captures the shape and character of this striking flower.

Throughout the course, you will learn trailing stitch, satin stitch, wire work, goldwork techniques and bead embroidery. You will explore how these techniques can be combined to create texture, dimension and detail, while also learning how to construct and finish the brooch.

By the end of the course, you will have completed a finished orchid brooch and gained an understanding of how embroidery techniques can be adapted for wearable pieces.
