Inspired by water crowfoot, a beautiful native
wildflower species, this design captures both its
long trailing stems and thread-like leaves, which
are submerged in water, and its delicate white
flowers and lobed leaves, which sit above the
surface.

This design provides an introduction to a variety
of surface stitches that bring this aquatic plant to
life, through texture and delicate shading.
Incorporating back stitch, laid stitch, stem stitch,
chain stitch, rope stitch, bullion knots and Turkey
rug stitch, this project provides plenty of
opportunities to practise a range of techniques.
All the stitches will be covered within the tuition
and you will be provided with a detailed
instruction booklet to enable you to complete the
design after the class.

Using a calming palette of stranded cottons, this
design is worked on a complementary pale-green
cotton fabric.

This class is suitable for embroiderers of all
levels, although some embroidery experience
may be helpful.

Please note this is an in-person class at Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey KT8 9AU.
