Develop your thread painting skills while creating a blue folk art-inspired floral design. Suitable for beginners and those with some embroidery experience, this class will introduce a range of techniques including French knots, long and short stitch, split stitch, stem stitch, holding stitches and a variety of filling techniques. You will learn how to use stitch direction, colour and texture to create shape, depth and detail within the design.
The class will take place at Hampton Court Palace, providing the perfect setting for a day of embroidery.
All materials required to complete the design will be provided. Please bring a notebook and pen if you would like to make notes throughout the class. You are also welcome to film demonstrations for your own personal reference and practice after the workshop.
