Join the Royal School of Needlework and the Holburne Museum, Bath on 6 April for an exciting partnership class inspired by a 17th Century Raised Embroidery Panel. The panel is on permanent display at the museum and you will have an opportunity to view this embroidery and many of the museum's magnificent objects during the day.

Learn how to create this beautiful motif based upon the Esther and Ahasuerus Raised Embroidery Panel stitched in approximately 1640. The design is based on a section of the intricate panel showing a bird flying around a tree under sun rays and beautiful sparkling cloud. You will have a chance to view and learn about the history of this panel and many other wonderful objects during the day from the museum’s unique collection and exhibitions.

During the class, RSN Tutor, Deborah Wilding will teach you hand embroidery techniques including, Padding, Goldwork, Surface Stitching and Textural Couching.
