£250.00
Join one of the UK’s last remaining passementerie makers, Elizabeth Ashdown, in this hands-on two-day workshop. Working with traditional hand-making techniques and a range of high quality passementerie materials and equipment, you will learn all the techniques needed in order to create your own passementerie rosette designs.
You will create exquisite passementerie rosettes that can be used in countless ways - from adding bespoke details to lampshades, cushions, and curtains, to crafting luxurious embellishments for fashion, accessories, shoes, and millinery. These handcrafted elements can also stand alone as sculptural art pieces, or be transformed into one-of-a-kind jewellery. The possibilities are as imaginative as your creativity allows.
Using traditional handmade materials including gimp cord and wooden moulds, you will choose your own colour combinations from a wide selection of high-quality yarns and threads. During the class you will make two complete rosette designs in your chosen colours, and begin a third to finish at home.
