RSN A Year in Flowers: July – Waterlily Embroidery Kit by Natalie Rowe

£38.50

Pre Order Due in 15th April 2025

This series of embroidery kits for all levels, charts a year in flowers. Although each kit depicts a flower that is associated with a particular month, the numerous symbolic meanings extend far beyond the month with which it is connected.

Within numerous cultures, flowers hold symbolic meanings, featuring in folk tales and as decorations for celebrations and festivities. In addition, certain flowers often hold personal significance, capturing a memory of a person or a place.

The waterlily is the flower of July. The waterlilys leaves and buds, which grow underneath the water and emerge majestically in the summer months, are symbols of rebirth and enlightenment. Furthermore, as they sit serenely upon the waters surface, they represent peace and tranquility.

This embroidery kit provides an introduction to a variety of surface stitches. You will learn back stitch, stem stitch, chain stitch and seeding stitch. The design is worked using a selection of vibrant stranded cottons on a natural-coloured linen.

The kit includes:

  • Instruction booklet
  • Linen with printed design
  • Calico backing fabric
  • 3 × stranded cotton threads
  • 5”/13 cm hoop
  • 2 × chenille 24 needle

You will also need embroidery scissors

The finished design measures 7.5 cm x 8 cm.
