In this five-day workshop, students will create a beautiful handmade notebook featuring a intricate floral design where goldwork embroidered flowers adorn the cover. This book can be personalised with the initials of your choice if you wish. Combining traditional embroidery techniques with bookbinding, this class offers a unique opportunity to learn both crafts in one project. This class is inspired by Beths most recent goldwork book “Verses of the Vine”. By the end of the class, you will leave with a finished goldwork embroidered notebook, along with the skills and confidence to continue exploring goldwork embroidery and simple bookbinding techniques at home.

Guest Tutor – Beth Cole

Beth Cole graduated from the Royal School of Needlework in 2018 and has since worked as a freelance embroiderer across the worlds of haute couture fashion, interiors, film, and television. Beth specialises in hand-embroidered and hand-bound books, spending two years refining this unique combination of goldwork embroidery and bookbinding. This exploration led to the creation of her most ambitious embroidered book to date, Verses of the Vine. She was recently honoured as a Trade Freeman of the Gold and Silver Wyre Drawers, a historic London livery company associated with the craft of fine metal threads used in goldwork embroidery. Beth now teaches a wide range of embroidery and bookbinding classes across the UK for guilds, craft groups, and interior design studios all over the UK.

Please note this is an in-person class at Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey KT8 9AU.
