Please note this is a one-off opportunity to stitch in The Drapers' Hall, one of the most magnificent venues in London and view the stunning Anointing Screen from the Coronation of King Charles III as part of your class.  Places are limited so early booking is essential!

We are delighted to offer you an exclusive opportunity to attend our hand embroidery event at the stunning Drapers' Company Livery Hall in London on Monday 30 October.

You will be stitching this beautiful Dove of Peace motif which was inspired by The Anointing Screen embroidered by the Royal School of Needlework for the Coronation in May this year. During the day you will also have a rare opportunity to view the screen which will be at The Drapers' Hall for one day only.

You will also have the chance to find out more about the history of The Drapers' Company which  was granted a Royal Charter by Edward III more than 600 years ago in 1364.  Soon after your arrival, you will enjoy refreshments while Archivist, Penny Fussell, provides a short talk about the Company in the magnificent Drawing Room where your class will take place (please see our product gallery for venue details).

The Dove design you will be stitching uses similar materials and embroidery techniques to The Anointing Screen, including Irish Linen, Silk and Japanese passing threads. The design is worked onto a dark blue Irish linen, while the bird is Appliquéd in an ivory silk satin.

During the class, RSN Tutor, Sarah de Rousset-Hall will teach you all of the techniques you need to know to complete the kit including: Appliqué, Bayeux Stitch, Couching (thread and Japanese passing), Fishbone Stitch and Stem Stitch.

This class is suitable for all levels and your kit will include everything you require to complete the project after the class. You may like to bring your own magnifiers but you will be able to borrow ring frames and scissors on the day.
