Stitch a motif inspired by Rachel Kay-Shuttleworth's famous bed hanging from Gawthorpe Hall.  Having mastered the technique she created multiple pieces to furnish Gawthorpe Hall including this impressive bed hanging which once adorned her four poster bed.

This piece is stitched in Appletons crewel wool and then embellished with beads and metal threads. It is suitable for beginners as the stitches and techniques are not overly complicated, and as such is a nice introduction to a less traditional crewel work.

The class kit will include everything you require to complete the project. You may like to bring your own embroidery scissors and you will be able to borrow ring frames, magnifiers and lights (if needed) on the day.
