Please note this is an onsite class which will run from 10am-4pm at Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey KT8 9AU.

Reticello is an Italian style of embroidery which dates from the 15th century.
The class will start by learning how to remove threads from the fabric to form a grid onto which the design will be stitched. Two of the basic Reticello stitches will be used to stitch this design – Buttonhole stitch (Punto Festone) and wrapping bars (Punto Cordoncino).

Some experience of counted thread techniques - such as Cross Stitch - is not essential but would be useful for this class. The class kit will include everything you require to complete the project. You may like to bring your own embroidery scissors and you will be able to borrow ring frames, magnifiers and lights (if needed) on the day.

If you have enjoyed this class you may wish to consider one of the other Whitework classes being taught by Nicola.

You can explore many more stitches on the RSN Stitch Bank.
