Reticello is an Italian style of embroidery which dates from the 15th century.

The class will start by removing threads from the fabric to form a grid onto which the design will be stitched.

The Reticello stitches used to stitch this design will include – Buttonhole stitch (Punto Festone), wrapping bars (Punto Cordoncino) and Picots (Pippiolino).

Some prior experience of counted thread techniques would be advisable for this intermediate level class.

The class kit will include everything you require to complete the project. You may like to bring your own embroidery scissors and you will be able to borrow ring frames, magnifiers and lights (if needed) on the day.

If you have enjoyed this class you may wish to consider one of the other Whitework classes being taught by Nicola.

You can explore many more stitches on the RSN Stitch Bank.
