For some people, the Poppy is worn as a symbol of remembrance of those who lost their lives in conflicts around the world for over 100 years and provide support for members of the Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force, veterans and their families. For others it is a beautiful and dramatic iconic flower that continues to appear in fashion in many guises throughout the years.
During this class, you will learn all the techniques required to make your Poppy brooch with its four wire-edged scarlet petals and three-dimensional raised embroidery centre using jet black and dark grey threads. However, during the class the tutor will provide you with tuition on how best to embellish your Poppy Brooch using threads, beads, sequins, ribbons and/or fabric from your own stash. Full written instructions and materials to make the standard poppy brooch are included in the kit.

The finished Poppy brooch is about 6.5cm in diameter.
There will be plenty of opportunity during the class to ask the Tutor questions and in advance of the class all preparation information will be emailed to you along with an invitation to join the class on the day.
The class kit will be posted out to you. Your kit includes all the materials you will need . The only additional items you’ll need are a a 6" wooden hoop and a pair embroidery scissors and it would be useful to have a pencil and paper in case you wish to take extra notes.
