The class will run over 6 consecutive weeks from 6pm - 8pm on the following dates:
Monday 19, & 26 February 2024
Monday 4, 11, 18 & 25 March 2024
For the Rest of the World bookings will close on 18 January to allow for the kit to be posted out in time for the class.
For UK and Europe bookings will close on 25 January to allow for the kit to be posted out in time for the class.

This 6 week course will introduce students to the fundamentals of Goldwork by creating a sampler of Goldwork and Padding Techniques.
- Week 1 & 2 - Padding Techniques
- Week 3 & 4 - Couching Techniques
- Week 5 & 6 - Cutwork Techniques
Padding samples can be left uncovered so that they can be referred to in future, and there will also be space on the sampler for students' own experimentation with the techniques learnt.
Suitable for embroiderers with some stitching experience, but no previous knowledge of Goldwork is required. Perfect for students who are thinking about joining the C&D Basic Goldwork module and would like a chance to work the techniques before committing to your own design.
The kit includes a variety of Goldwork threads and padding materials that will be used to create your sampler including: Pearl Purl, Smooth Purl, Rough Purl, Bright Check, Wire Check, Japanese Passing, Smooth Passing, 1 ½ Twist, Rococo. Needles, Printed calico fabric, padding materials, sewing thread, beeswax and a mini velvet board are also included. Written instructions are not included but there will be time to take notes.
The class kit will be posted out to you. Your kit includes everything you need including a full colour, step by step instruction booklet. The only things you’ll need are an 8” ring frame and embroidery scissors. .It would be useful to have a pencil and paper in case you wish to take extra notes.
There will be plenty of opportunity during the class to ask the Tutor questions and in advance of the class all preparation information will be emailed to you along with an invitation to join the class on the day.
