This design incorporates Appliqué, Silk Shaded accents along with some Goldwork details. The central blue area will be applied fabric with blue and purple Silk Shading worked from the tips to enhance the colour of the piece. Similarly the leaves will be applied fabric with Silk Shading worked into the tips to add depth. The coral segment will be entirely Silk Shaded to allow for a soft gradation of colour.
Once all of the fabric and silk shading has been worked, felt padding will be applied to lower sections of the blue fabric along with the tip of the flourish and soft string will be applied to the stems. Traditional chipping and cutwork are then to be worked along with some pearl purl outlines.
The kit is manufactured by the Royal School of Needlework and includes material, embroidery needles, thread and and instructions with diagrams.
Warning: Not suitable for small children, kit contains sharp
