This class is part of the RSN International Summer School 2024
This is an in person class and takes place at Hampton Court Palace. The class runs over two days Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 August from 10am-4pm.
This shiny and sparkly peacock design was inspired by a 1920’s compact mirror that the tutor spotted at an antiques market while on holiday in the Cotswolds, England.
It is stitched using DeVere silk threads and Gutermann metallic threads, and it is suitable for all levels. It introduces you to Silk Shading with the Long and Short stitch and you will also learn some basic Surface Stitches such as Stem Stitch, Whipped Back Stitch, Fish Bone Stitch and Fly Stitch. You will also learn how to apply kid leather, spangles and jewels.
This is a great introduction to a beautiful technique with the added element of the special threads. Keep your hands smooth in the run up to this class!
