A circle of flowers based on a three way symmetrical design which will enable you to practice your skills of Long and Short shading and the addition of 3d elements to your work. The design includes primroses, rose buds and forget-me-nots all of which are traditional wild flowers which are found in the English countryside. To add depth to your stitch elements of each of the flowers are stitched both on the fabric and as wired shapes which are stitched as separate elements and then added to your embroidery. The design also includes a pollinator bee highlighting its importance in the English countryside.
Day 1 - Silk Shading of Primrose flat elements
Day 2 - Silk Shading of Rose and Forget-me-not flat elements
Day 3 - Silk Shading on wired elements petals, leaves and bee wings
Day 4 - Adding Silk flowers, Adding wired flower elements, adding plush bee body, adding wings.
The kit includes full stitch instructions, needles, fabrics, threads, silk flower shapes for primroses and forget-me-nots, printed design fabric and calico backing fabric.
For this kit you will require a 10” self supporting hoop or similar frame for the main design and a 6” hoop for the wired elements. Sharp embroidery scissors and additional scissors which your happy to use in fine wire are also necessary.
