This class is part of the RSN International Summer School 2024

This is an in person  class and takes place at The Sayre School, Lexington, Kentucky, USA  The class runs over two days  from Saturday 20 to Sunday 21 July 2024: 10am-4pm (EST).

This class would be suitable for all/mixed skill levels.

This beautiful flower is based on the Iris design by Walter Crane and is a simplified version of a silver and blue rose that the tutor created during her RSN apprenticeship as part of her symbol, figure and animal piece. Emma chose the Iris in particular as it was her favourite design by Walter Crane which was on display during her time at the school. She has updated the colours so they are similar to the RSN and a touch more modern.

During the class your will learn how to use the following techniques in order to bring your Iris to life: Appliqué, Felt and String Padding, Couching, Pearl Purl, Cutwork, Chipping, and attaching Stumpwork Petals.

You can explore many more stitches on the RSN Stitch Bank.

The class kit will include everything you require to complete the project. You may like to bring your own embroidery scissors.
